What to Evaluate During a Property Walk-Through

When we tour homes together, look past the surface cosmetics and ask yourself these structural and practical questions:

• General Maintenance: Are there obvious signs that the current owners have kept up with routine repairs, or are you spotting deferred maintenance?
• Big-Ticket Items: What is the approximate age of the roof, the HVAC furnace, and the water heater? Will any major components need to be replaced soon?
